6 Great ways to recycle plastic grocery bags

Saving the world starts with one person at a time. There are many things that you can do to help to recycle everyday products and plastic grocery bags are no exception. I came across 6 different things that you could use a plastic grocery bag for so that it can be recycled around the home. These tips will help also help you to save money when you recycle.

1. First thing is first, most companies are starting to take paper and plastic bags so that they may use them once again. Places like Wal-Mart, now have stations or boxes set by their doors so that people may bring their bags into their store to recycle. Next time you need to make a trip to Wal-Mart, take your bags with you so that you can place them in the recycle bin.
2. One of my favorite ways to recycle them is to use them as trash can liners. I have a small trash can set in every room of the house and the small bags are perfect for them. This also keeps me from having to purchase small trash bags at the store, which helps me to save money. This is another great budgeting tip.
3. A friend of mine came up with this next idea since she is the owner of a cat, she uses them to line her kitty litter box and also uses them as gloves when she has to use the pooper scooper.
4. Instead of buying bubble wrap, you can use them in their place. When I moved, I used all of our plastic trash bags to stuff inside and around the breakables. It works like a charm and again, it will help you to save money when you don’t have to purchase bubble wrap which can be expensive.
5. If you are packing things away, you could use them to store things like your shoes in so that they don’t get dirt on all your other things. I have also found a great use for them to wrap up things like the toilet plunger so that it does not create a mess.
6. Try storing one in your car or purse so that you can keep the trash in it’s rightful place. I keep one in my car so that I can put my trash in it so that it does not manage to get in the floor board and then kicked out when I get in and out of the car. This will help to keep the litter off of the ground.

There are lot’s of ways that you can recycle trash bags, just use your imagination and see what you can come up with. Recycling is a great way to save money and help the Earth at the same time.

1. Preparation - Ensure that your vehicle is serviced regularly, as poor fuel economy can be caused by dirty air filters, old spark plugs or low fluid levels. Check tyre pressures regularly and keep them inflated at the level recommended by your vehicle manufacturer. Soft tyres result in up to 5% of your fuel being wasted and they will also wear out quicker.

2. Close all windows - An open window, especially at highway speeds, can increase fuel consumption by up to 10%.

3. Use Air Conditioning sparingly – Unless it’s freezing or boiling, the fan is usually sufficient for air flow into the vehicle. When the air conditioner is on, it puts extra load on the engine forcing more fuel to be used and increasing fuel consumption by up to 10%.

4. Keep weight off – Anything that weights down your car is burning up extra fuel. Avoid using your car as a storage place for unnecessary equipment and pack lightly for long trips. Remove roof racks when not being used, as they cause significant air drag.

5. Don’t idle – Turn off your engine when you are waiting for someone or anticipate staying still for more than 1 minute. Just 1 minute of idling uses more fuel than restarting the engine.

6. Avoid high speeds – Driving on a highway at 90 km/h uses 25% less fuel than at 110 km/h in most cars.

7. Drive at a consistent speed – Drive smoothly and avoid sudden braking by anticipating changes in the traffic flow ahead. If you have cruise control, use it.

8. Plan your trip – for holiday drives, avoid peak hour traffic if possible. Plan the most direct route before you leave and travel on highways rather than suburban streets as much as possible.

9. Avoid lugging - If you are driving a manual car, go for the next gear as soon as the car can handle it.

Money Saving Tips for Next Oil Change!

Save at least $30 by changing your oil yourself every time. When it comes time to change the oil of your Ford Tempo, doing it yourself could save you up to $30 or more. How do you know when to change your oil?

Change your oil every 3000 miles or about every 3 months, whichever comes first. SAE 5W-30 motor oil is the preferred motor oil to use for all weathering conditions, but if you are like me and live in moderate to hot temperatures then SAE 10W-30 motor oil is also acceptable.

Never change your engine oil while the engine is hot. This should be common sense. If your engine is hot, wait 2 hours. You could suffer terrible burns from your car's engine or oil drainage. We don't want any hospital bills over here.

Locate your car's oil pan drain plug. Place an oil pan underneath the plug so you don't spill any oil on the ground. Unscrew the drain plug and let the oil drain out for about 20 minutes to ensure all oil has poured out. Screw the plug back in. If you start pouring oil in without the plug tightly fastened then you are in for a greasy mess.

Locate the oil filter, unscrew it, and take it off. The oil filter is the piece that is shaped like half a cylinder. Be careful because oil will want to leak out of it after you unscrew it so keep it upside down. Then screw the new oil filter in.

Pour the correct amount of oil in for your vehicle. For a 2.3L engine, the oil amount should be 5 quarts. If you have a 2.3L engine, make sure the oil filter says FL-300. For 3.0L Tempo engines, you will want to put only 4.5 quarts of oil in, and make sure the oil filter says FL-400A.

If your car has a lot of miles on it (lets say +80,000), it might be a good idea to use oil that is specifically designed for cars with high mileage. I use Valvoline High Mileage and it seems to work pretty good for my 1993 Tempo (+120,000 mi).

A quick auto maintenance tip to keep in mind is to periodically check the ground underneath your parked vehicle. Look for any liquids that look like they are new. If it looks like fresh liquid, there could be a chance that it is coming from your car. Be sure to keep an eye the next time your car is parked for a while to confirm any suspicious liquid.

Just for reference, reddish liquid will be power steering fluid, brownish liquid will probably be oil, and if it is a bluish liquid it is most likely radiator coolant.

Check your oil level every couple of weeks. Make sure your oil level is within the regulated guidelines located at the bottom of your oil dip stick. Your dip stick is the stick with a round, usually colored ring at the top. All you do is pull it out, wipe off excess oil with a rag, stick it back in, pull it out again, hold it level, and decipher where the oil line stops.

Don't be an idiot. Always properly dispose of any used oil. Local auto parts stores and service stations usually have a receptacle in the back of their store where you can recycle any used oil. Start recycling now before we jack Earth up anymore and there is nothing left to protect.

First of all, if you are going to be stupid in public be sure to not have your children with you. This is a big no-no when it comes to the stupid things that Britney Spears has done.

The second thing that I learned was that if you do decide to get married, make sure that it is to a man that is dumber than you are. Britney Spears thought that she had found one and then it backfired. It turns out that Kevin Federline is not as stupid as Britney Spears thought that he was. Look at the way he turned her world upside down.

Third thing is that sometimes when you think that a popular phrase(or song lyric)like, oops I did it again, is really catching on. You might be right but maybe it is catching on for all the wrong reasons.

Four thing that I learned is that Britney Spears brings a bad name to celebrities and she is no longer considered a role model. Some people say that she should be a role model for our kids but on the other hand, would you really want your child listening to someone who has this much drama?

Okay, so maybe this is a little off topic from my other post, so to keep it in tact I wanted to add this last line. There has been a lot of commotion over free dating sites but are they ever really free? I started this post because I know of a site that will give you free dating and they will never require a credit card.

Toshiba Cameras: From my own experience I have found Toshiba cameras to be of very good quality. One of the aspects that I have found to be the most pleasant is the camera's memory capacity. For those of you who do not want to be burdened with buying extra Flash-Memory-Cards, then this may be the camera for you as many of the models come with extended memory. I would not recommend these cameras for professional work, however for the average consumer who is looking for a good solid camera, then Toshiba could be the choice for you!

Sony Cameras: I have had the most experience using Sony cameras. I have found that these camera are best for mid-tier users. The cameras that I have used have ranges anywhere from 2 to 8 mega-pixels capacity. I think you can do better with a novice camera from Toshiba and Sony's basic models can be a tad difficult to use. This is not to say you can't, its just I believe Toshibas are a bit better in this regard. Probably my favorite from Sony is the Cybershot DSC-T10. It has 7.2 mega-pixel, 3x optical zoom and also comes with a video mode that uses audio as well. Finally it comes with a memory stick storage of 56mb. While not great, I think you'll find it will do the job for mid-tier users.

One of my favorites that I have had the pleasure to operate is the Samsung Digital Camera DIGIMAX S1000. The camera operates in a very simple manner as simple "point and shoot" camera. There is very little focusing that the user needs to do. Furthermore it has 10.1 mega pixels which means the quality of your color photos will be outstanding. Some of the other features I like are "Color Effect" "Highlight" and "Photo Frame." All of these features allow the user to manipulate the camera a bit more should they desire. I would recommend this camera for someone who is skilled in digital photography and would like some more advanced features.
